As an international student who came all the way over to the United States since 2009, Alan enjoys learning the Western culture while at the same time integrating the Eastern perspective to his surroundings. He has always been very proactive when it comes to learning new things and meeting different people, and he is extremely excited to serve his fellow schoolmates in the capacity of this position in the student government. Besides having years of experience serving students in the student government back in Hong Kong, Alan has also acquired marketing skills and knowledge during his internship with Sony in the summer in 2010, and he is ready to make good use of these experiences to lead the marketing team to provide the marketing needs to his schoolmates. As seen in the photo taken in Rinkaby, Sweden during the 22nd World Scout Jamboree, Alan is also a well-trained Scout who lives up to the Scouting Motto – Be Prepared. Alan is absolutely prepared, and he is looking forward to learning from and serving all the California Golden Bears bleeding blue and gold!

Over the years, he has had the opportunity to be the webmaster for quite a few organizations – Lowell’s chapter of Building with Books, a group that builds schools in developing countries (one of which, in Mali, Africa, he got to help build for two weeks in 2007), Alpha Beta Gamma: Zeta Beta, a junior college business honor society, as well as many others. This year, he will also be taking on the position of External Vice President, where he will act as chairman of the Director’s Advisory Council at Haas. He looks forward to an exciting year with HBSA, and the rest of the Cal community! GO BEARS!
