Background on HBSA
The Haas Business School Association (HBSA) is the official undergraduate student government of the Haas School of Business. Under the support and guidance of the faculty and Undergraduate Program Office, HBSA works to enhance the undergraduate experience and advocate for the needs of the student body. It serves as an advisory body and represents all students enrolled in the Haas Undergraduate Program. HBSA’s goal is to promote activities that benefit the Haas community, students, faculty and staff.

Campus Integration
Led by Sanam Ismail
The Campus Integration committee serves as an HBSA x ASUC liaison. More specifically, associates will work to enhance the academic experience for Haas students and provide more resources from the ASUC and other external stakeholders on campus for Haas students and organizations.

Professional Development
Led by Carolyn Lu
The Professional Development committee organizes professional development events (interview etiquette/resume workshops, career fair tips, and any other presentations/workshops) and works with the marketing committee and the Director of Tech & Comms to promote job openings, information on alternative career opportunities beyond the ABC’s, and professional development opportunities.

MBA & Alumni Relations
Led by Ethan Soe
The MBA & Alumni Relations committee serves as the liaison between the undergraduate and MBA/Alumni communities by organizing joint social and professional events for networking, mentorship, and professional relations. The vision for this year is to build a strong Haas community by connecting undergrads, MBAs, and alumni. The VP plans to create value for every role by engaging each group for what they care about most through specific events, career/life planning support, and fun!

Philanthropy
Led by Ayushi Bhardwaj
The Philanthropy committee executes Berkeley Haas specific marketing, planning, and engagement for Haas undergraduate students around Big Give and leads other crowdfunding campaigns to encourage undergrad, MBA, and alumni donations.
Associates will consistently spreading awareness regarding Philanthropy at Haas through various mediums (social media, active engagement, campaigns etc.) and hosting fundraising events (Sip n Paint, Big Give Carnival, and one more *new* event!)

Student Affairs
Led by Brandon Poonér
The Student Affairs HBSA Committee is responsible for fostering and maintaining a strong culture within the Berkeley Haas undergraduate college.
Through two sub-committees, Student Development and Student Life, Student Affairs oversees the implementation of events and initiatives aimed to support the professional and academic development of students, and to foster a strong sense of community, respectively.
Student Affairs associates are responsible for organizing, planning, and creating events for the Haas student body. They are expected to interact with other Haas students, faculty, and Haas administration to achieve these ends.
Events and initiatives hosted by Student Affairs in the past include the Haas Mentorship Program, Pre-Haas Student Panels, Haas Social by the Glade, and Pre-Haas Essay Editing Workshops.

Student Organization Advisory Council (SOAC)
Led by Neev Mandot and Lana Sabet
SOAC hopes to establish a clear line of communication with our Haas-Sponsored Organizations and the UG office early on in the semester. The goal is to foster an inclusive and fun environment for our HSOs to encourage engagement in HBSA activities to ultimately contribute to a healthier business community at Berkeley.
Main initiatives include:
Business Forum in the Spring to help HSOs with recruitment
Developing the new common app for the Spring 2024 cycle
Liaison program where each associate is assigned an HSO to guide and support

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
Led by Jacob Williams
The DEI committee’s vision is to increase the general state of belonging felt by every member of the Haas community through incredibly ambitious and exciting initiatives to engage stakeholders across the Haas School of Business and derive tangible, data-driven solutions to implement as part of our working model!
Main initiatives for the 2023-2024 academic year will surround founding data on the state of belonging for Haas School of Business, institutionalizing anti-bias and pro-diversity training across RSOs, and spearheading the maintenance of prior successful DEI campaigns (e.g., menstrual equity initiative)

Transfer Development
Led by Dena Norouzi
The Transfer Development Committee is made up of two parts: Transfer Integration and Transfer Outreach.
Transfer Integration serves the purpose of helping new transfer students in Haas adapt to the new environment (ex: hosting a social mixer to help bond new transfers and create a fun and inclusive environment).
Transfer Outreach serves the purpose of giving back to the larger transfer community interested in joining Haas by creating resources and opportunities to support them in their application process. Outreach events would include hosting case competitions, to facilitating panels in Envision Haas (admission outreach program by the Haas Undergraduate Office).

Corporate Relations
Led by Ellie Hwang
The Corporate Relations committee establishes and maintains relationships with HBSA’s corporate sponsors, providing opportunities to the business community to bridge the gap between students and professionals. We look forward to creating more experiential opportunities in the form of corporate office visits and last year’s case-a-thon, as well as helping grow the database of corporate connections for students!

Marketing
Led by Shivanshi Tandon and Rachel Yang
The Marketing committee ensures and promotes community engagement by raising awareness of HBSA activities and affairs through event planning, social media, and flyers. The main vision for this academic year is to streamline the HBSA marketing structure and create an HBSA presence that is more memorable and valuable for the Haas community!

Strategic Initiatives
Led by Brennan Dai
HBSA's Strategic Initiatives Committee is responsible for developing special projects in conjunction with the Haas administration and provides internal strategic services for other HBSA committees. Strategy Associates perform a wide variety of tasks, working flexibly between many committees and the President/EVP to ensure that HBSA is maximally effective in serving the business community. Strategy Associates are also expected to take on an approved personal project throughout their tenure in the Strategic Initiatives Committee to improve the quality of life for Haas undergraduate students. Applicants to the Strategy Associate position must be current students in the Haas undergraduate program.

Sustainability
Led by Simin Mavani
Sustainability works with undergraduates, staff, and graduate students in the Haas community to promote environmental responsibility and awareness in the business school. The vision for this committee is to lead and inspire a culture of environmental and social responsibility within HBSA and the wider business community. This culture begins with Haas. Through education, advocacy, and collaborative initiatives, this committee will strive to empower Haas to become champions of sustainability and drive meaningful change in the business world.
